Meet Robb Bolton, one of our Jingle Bell Jog '22 Recipients

Meet Robb Bolton

Ten years ago, Robb defeated thyroid cancer just ten days after his wife received a clean bill of health after battling leukemia for 2 ½ years. It was then that he decided to start Cancer Fit, a nonprofit organization, providing free exercise and wellness programs for adult and child cancer survivors to help alleviate the long term effects of treatment.

Fast forward some years to 2016 and his wife suffered a massive stroke. This stroke actually sparked the first ever Jewel Levine Foundation event, the Run for Elle. After the stroke, Robb became his wife’s primary caregiver. For the past 6 years, he has been the sole provider for his family; working full-time at Pepperdine, caring for her as needed and working with pediatric cancer patients in his spare time through their organization, all while still making time for their two young adult children every day and helping keep Elle active as well.

Living an active and healthy lifestyle has always been important to Robb and his family, so when Robb was diagnosed with an aggressive lung cancer this past June, they were devastated and blindsided, to say the least.

On October 26th, Robb had a thoracotomy to remove the entire upper left lobe due to the cancer which had spread from the lungs to his lymph nodes. The cancer has now metastasized outside of the lung into the pulmonary artery tissues. Robb will soon begin an intense treatment to continue to battle this. This journey is harsh and intense but Robb is doing this with strength and courage, and still making time to inspire others. We are inspired and honored to name Robb Bolton as one of this year’s Jingle Bell Jog recipients.
